So I’ve been shooting a few things for Gucci of late, all to do with their fragrance Gucci Guilty. I’ve learned more about the construction and origin of perfumes than I ever thought I’d know! For example, when perfumiers are sampling different smells they can ‘reset’ their noses by smelling their own clothes.

Apparently our sense of smell becomes used to our detergent to the point where it becomes the ‘neutral’ starting point from which we can appreciate and assess other smells. I see a correlation here with light, if you’ve ever put on a pair of colour tinted glasses initially our brain tells us that everything is tainted by that colour, but over time and as we get used to it, our brain takes the tint to be the norm and we pretty much forget we have them on (aside from the point an laughing and varies ‘peace’ signs waved at us from passers by).

Interesting.

Anyway, as you can see from these photos, I also got to meet and shoot the Hollywood actor, Chris Evans. Didn’t talk much to him, he seemed nice enough though.
