Aerosmith ‘Tough Love’ Album cover

This shoot was fun!

The premis was simple – a classic red high-heel pushed into some poor sod’s back.

Well, the high-heel was simple enough, but getting the right back – that was tricky. So I enlisted the help of an old friend of mine, TV presenter and director, Adam Gendle.

They say you always should have your friend’s back.

As you can imagine, with all things like this it’s very easy to shoot it in a nice safe way and make it look painful through the art of retouching – BUT NO! I wanted the real deal, Adam was a sport and it turns out he has quite a high pain-threshold!

Georgie (who in a rather bonhomie gesture insisted on doing the shoot in her underwear) dutifully pummelled her heel into Gendle’s poor lumbar, and once the Art Director (Matt) and I were happy we shut it down.

The result is the current Aerosmith compilation album cover for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Asia), Steve and the boys apparently liked it (they didn’t swing by the studio unfortunately).

Couldn’t have done it without the ever resourceful Mönk and the always helpful Rachel Friere.
