Quentin Cooper

Quentin Cooper is one of the most interesting and enjoyable people to talk to on the planet*. I met him in Heathrow airport a while ago and have stayed in touch ever since. He’s a friendly, smiley individual who would describe himself as ‘knowing a little bit more than just …

Personal Project: White

After watching Dr. James Fox’s series ‘A History Of Art in Three Colours‘ on the amazing BBC Four, I was struck by his description of Le Corbusier’s stark bone-white designs. I had an image of the high contrast white architecture stuck in my head for ages and it was something …

The Instagram Phenomenon

Today the news was announced that Instagram has had 150 million uploads. That’s right 150,000,000! Oh, and that’s in it’s first 10 months of existence. That’s impressive! Now those (few) of you who don’t know what an Instagram is, basically it’s an iPhone application which lets you apply various filters …

James Bryant

James is a photographer, he kindly stepped in to help me out with a shoot in Manchester last week. He’s a lovely chap (although in this portait he looks a bit moody) and you can see his work [here]. Probably won’t thanks me for posting this, but I like the …

The Bristol Affordable Art Fair

During the snowy winter we had a few months ago I shot a personal project called ‘Orton Limbo’. It was a shot near where I grew up in the midlands (the appropriately named middle of England – for any non-Brits) on my trusty Mamiya67 on Fuji Provia -a film I built my career on …

BOREDOM!

BORED!, a photo by Nathan Gallagher on Flickr. Via Flickr: Just off Brick Lane, the other side of the tracks from Cheshire street, sits this photo-library gem encapsulating a general-publics view of discontented youth. Of course there’s a chance this was actually produced for a music video / bbc documentary, …

Halloween

In E.T. My personal experience had been small parties with friends apple-bobbing, followed …

Section 43 of the Terrorism Act

While taking this image I was stopped under suspicion of being a terrorist recon unit. The officers explained their reasons, but I couldn’t help but think that this use of Section 43 of the Terrorism Act 2000 marks a low plot on the effort-to-reward graph. (Before I go on, I …

The Houses Of Parliament

The above image is so big, you can zoom in and actually see people working inside.. have a play below. … I wonder if ‘they’ will tell me to take it down.

How I feel this morning

How I feel this morning, originally uploaded by Nathan Gallagher. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a happy chappy, but as the phrase goes; ‘all baby-crying and no sleep makes jack a raging psychopath’

The Royal Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall I’m going to be honest with you, I’m filling up the website with this one, but what a blinder huh? I actually slept in a box at the Royal Albert Hall shortly after shooting this. I was doing a time-lapse shot of a stage build for Orange RockCorps. and I wasn’t to happy about leaving kit around unattended, can’t be many people who can say they’ve slept overnight there.
